three years go by so fast.
This was the moving truck that picked up my things in small-town California, and tonight I realized it had been three years since I’d arrived in Portland (the actual date was February 27, 2009) with very little but credit card debt to my name, a beat-down car that’s still puttering along today, and the keys to my apartment.
It’s incredible how quickly three years can go by....

Oh, private liberal arts education. The best thing you taught me was how to be broke, because between the amount I pay in student loan bills each month to avoid the interest and what I kick into a 401 (k), it’s like I’m punishing myself now for future reward.
