CHART: Americans didn’t intend to elect a Republican majority to the House of Representatives. But thanks to GOP-engineered redistricting, they did.
A lot of this has to do in part with how more rural states have lower populations. But again, this reinforces a point: knowing municipal, county, and state candidates is important. Those people are the ones who wind up handling redistricting (or gerrymandering).
