The Third Shift

    Lots of healthy choices there…

"Healthy choices" and a newsroom don’t go together in the first place, but even more so on election night. Everyone’s running on adrenaline, sugar, and caffeine in general.

  2. samsplace replied to your photo: It feels weird to salivate over microwaved mashed…

Microwaved mashed potatoes? Um, you know the recipe calls for potatoes, water, salt and any form of dairy product, right? Those are four things you should have in your kitchen at all times anyway, and making your own is so delicious.

Cut me some slack. This is the first time I’ve ever made microwaved mash and I’m only doing it because of this particular situation. Any other time, I’d make them with actual potatoes. But this is about eating a non-solid that isn’t soup, applesauce, or pudding. Were I fixing a steak, pork chops, or chicken to go with this, the mashed potatoes would be fresh, but I’m not standing over the stove for this alone.

Dude, age isn’t a number. It’s how you feel and what you do.

oh, absolutely. I’ve been feeling like an old man for years!

(Kidding. I merely went for a toss-off line. I do not fear 30. I am merely shocked I’ve survived adulthood without major assistance.)

    Looks good to me.

it’s fucking fantastic. I could go downtown every weekend and find a new awesome food cart to try.

NEXT TIME I COME TO PORTLAND GONNA GET SUPER STONED AND DO THAT

    do it.

samsplace replied to your photo: Lunch from Big Ass Sandwiches on SW Ash and 3rd….

Holy crap that looks good. Straight roast beef or is it corned or otherwise cured? I must know this.

straight roast beef. you can also choose turkey if you’re so inclined. it comes with fires and the beschamel in it for $7. extra veggies (onions, mushrooms, peppers) are 50 cents each and you can get hot sauce on it too. they also make a Big Ass Breakfast Sandwich.

  5. samsplace replied to your post: so I’ve made a really bad mistake as far as sleeping goes.

Really bad for your health, physical and mental. Hope you can stop living like that.

that could happen soon but I can’t say much more right now because I don’t know much more.

  6. I’m all about cheap jokes and good mixers.

cupofthrills replied to your photo: Two trains of thought: I’m in trouble if this…

ah! lol! If you mix it with tequila and lime, you have a drink called a “paloma.” A refreshing summer cocktail, as mundane as it sounds.

Squirt is one of my favorite mixers. I’ve lost count of how many cheap tequilas I’ve mixed it with.

samsplace replied to your photo: Two trains of thought: I’m in trouble if this…

    Cheap, but good.

Post-admission, every freaking statement in the newsroom could be a Weiner joke. It’s proof that news people are mostly frustrated (and bad) comedy writers.

  7. we have a consensus.

The sad thing is, she loses that to Angie. Just like everything else.

    Sad but true.

I’m not sure she even cracks the top five in the “hottest Jennifers” category, let alone all women.

Jennifers Connelly & Garner are definitely winning.

    Who?

Y’know, that chick who was famous in a sitcom and then decided to make nothing but shitty rom-coms (except Office Space and maybe The Good Girl if you’re feeling generous), showing Katherine Heigl the way to a viable career path.
